About this album
This songbook presents the main compositions of Pattápio Silva with solos, backing tracks and scores for guitar, flute and clarinet.
We believe that this work has the potential to expose the works of Pattápio Silva to an audience that may not have had contact with the composer yet, for the following reasons:
– This is the first songbook in the playalong format for the works of Pattápio Silva. The existence of an accompaniment offers both enjoyment and important motivation to soloists in their studies. The full tracks with solos made by the excellent flutist Alexandre Braga provide an important reference for beginning soloists.
– The guitar arrangements and transcriptions from the original scores made by an expert on the instrument, Italo Peron, promote the works to the universe of guitarists in Brazil and around the world.
– This is also the first work to offer transcriptions for instruments in Bb of the works of Pattápio Silva, with the clarinet as the primary instrument in mind due to its range extension. We also transposed the songs for instruments in Eb and for the mandolin, the sheet music for which can be found online on our site www.ChoroPlaybacks.com
